Happiness Meme (Day 4)

April 11th, 2009 (09:32 pm)

where i am: getting ready to hit the hay early
how i am: amused
accompanied by: my computer's whirr

Today, I've been a lump. Though I'm starting to feel better with this damn cold, I had very little energy for most of the day and, after running some errands with hubby earlier, spent most of the day semi-prone and on the couch. Lazy, lazy, lazy!

So, what made me happy today? My hubby. He made us a terrific dinner of garlic mashed potatoes with fried onions and mushrooms, a marinated steak and a great mixed salad. I may have put on a couple of pounds tonight because of it *g*, but damn! did his dinner hit the spot ♥

Oh, and I meant to share this picture with some lj-friends after finding it a number of weeks ago but forgot to, so now I might as well. It's a picture of the hubby from his high-school yearbook that, though I've perused his yearbooks a million times (hell, some of them are mine too), I had never discovered before.

Typically, the quality sucks out loud, but I still think he looks kinda hot here ;). It's from the Track & Field team photo (javelin and shot put were my guy's events) and taken in 1984:

Hubby's in the middle of the photo in the light shirt and his best-friend (and our future best man) is the little guy above and behind him *g*. Dude in the lower front with the tie? Another of that group of friends who we've long since lost touch with.

Though hubby and I never dated in high-school and didn't get together until the summer before my senior year of college, my heart-rate always increased when I was around him. He was definitely one of my many crushes from those days! He made me laugh and, even at 16, he had fantastic shoulders and arms. Still does -- uh, the laughing and the great arms. Guess that's more than reason enough for me to be happy today :)

You know....your hubby looks more than a titch like Viggo Mortensen in this picture.

Not nearly as chiselled but it's a comparison I'll gladly take *g*. He actually had quite the baby-face back then, so much so, my mom thought I looked like a cradle robber dating him and I'm only 2 months older than him LOL!

I think in high-school though, he was already built like a man and not a kid so, in a group/team shot like this one, the baby-face (by comparison) just wasn't as obvious. I thought he was damn fine looking, as I do Viggo! Thanks!

He's definitely a keeper...although I suppose you'd figured that out already.

I think he's a keeper too. Hell, if not, I've spent almost 23 years deluding myself ;)
