I'm so easily amused...

As a bit of a getaway, I spent the weekend at my sister's, about 100 miles north of my place.  It was a girls' weekend, with my hubby staying home with the dogs (all but Dyna who came with me) and hers stayed at their son's place south west of me. It's been a while since I've driven up there and, as I was reacquainting myself with the scenery along the route, I could see a familiar and welcome property rising up in the distance.

This is quite a rural area made up of small farms and forests and the trees are all pretty scrubby. We're not talking majestic forests but mostly bush with marshes and swamps. Scenic in its own right and the homes tend to match the area... lived in old farm-houses, outright shacks, along with bungalows with the odd chalet thrown in amongst them (they're very close to what's considered ski country in Ontario).

And then there's this gorgeous horse ranch I was approaching... with its beautiful gables, classy grey-blue exterior with clean white trim on the windows, balconies, porches, etc. and on its matching outbuildings, including the stables. There are 2 large ponds on either side of the lane-way and the closer I got to it, the more I realized that this property was far and away my favorite along that 100 mile route.

So, as I was gazing at its beauty, my mind began to wander - musing as to just who would have such a stunningly glorious oasis in the midst of nowhere like that? And though logically I knew checking out the name on the mailbox wouldn't tell me a damn thing, as I drove past it, I looked anyway.

The name?

'Nuff said ;)

And, yup... I grinned just as big driving past it on my way home too :D.

Hee. Too funny! And wouldn't you love to find out that Jensen has a place that close to you? LOL

Jensen T

Seriously, I just grinned from ear to ear when I read the name. It just seemed so... fitting *g*

And, yeah, I'd love to hear that he had a place up here. Alas, if he hasn't bothered to buy one in BC with all the years he's worked in/near Vancouver, no doubt Ontario is out of the question ;).

Jensen Prayer Hands

Between Hwy 10 and nowhere (okay, Grey County Road 7 *g*), south of Meaford. Like I just wrote to gatorpez, above, reading that name on the mailbox just seemed so fitting :)

Of course that was a surname and there are tonnes of Jensen's out there. Our imaginations are wonderful things though, aren't they? ;)

Oh, you never know... LOL! I'm betting if he had a nice farm it would be in Texas.... I definitely know that area -- but the farm itself doesn't ring any bells... mind you -- I haven't been there in forever....

Impala

It's south of the thriving metropolis of Rocklyn, if that helps. I'm thinking not ;)

Seriously? I think I got lost in that area once on the way between Collingwood and Toront -- and had awesome French Onion soup in Rocklyn... Is that possible?

It's such a small place, I wouldn't even call it a village. All I can remember seeing in the few times I've driven through it is a general store and mechanic's garage. I don't think there's a restaurant but it's not somewhere I'm likely to stop since it's close enough to my sister's place to not bother. I guess it's certainly possible though... I'll have to look out for a restaurant the next time I drive through.

Having a girls weekend sounds like wonderful therapy! And lol! I loved that the owner's name was Jensen! *G* I am grinning pretty big myself!

I thought you'd get a chuckle out of that. It seemed so fitting, right?

I enjoyed the getaway though it was very much a "me being a shoulder" for my sister kind of thing. Her 30+ marriage is in turmoil and she needed a sounding board. The change of scenery and fresh country air did me a lot of good anyway though, despite being drawn into this family drama ;).

Oh yeah-I did-lol!!!
Getting away sometimes has a catch-lol. I know what you mean there. I hope your sister finds a way to get through this-and finds some happiness. :)

Thanks for this too. Yeah, I hate to see my big sister so unsettled. Truthfully, I don't have a lot of faith in the marriage's future but, I want her happy more than I want her happy so hopefully she reaches that point somehow, some way soon.

It's hard when it's that way. But you only want what's best for her and what makes her happy. *Crosses fingers* I hope that this happens for her-and soon!
