The Great Eye Candy V-Day Post (#2 of 3)

February 14th, 2011 (12:36 am)
where i am: hanging with Dyna
how i am: busy
accompanied by: her snores

The handsome subjects of this second collage come from just 3 TV shows...

Lancer
The Magnificent Seven
Supernatural

The only shows for which I've written fanfic, hence my reserving an entry solely for them.

Oh how I love Scott & Johnny Lancer (played by Wayne Maunder & Jim Stacy), even today. And the brotherly duo of Buck Wilmington & JD Dunne (perfectly played by Dale Midkiff and Andy Kavovit) just stole my heart watching Mag7, even though I initially began watching it for Michael Biehn, an actor I had seriously crushed on all the way back to his days on the short-lived late 70's series, The Runaways. They inspired my first piece of fanfiction and my first foray into fandom. And here I am a dozen years later, firmly ensconced in another one ;)

And lastly we have the Winchester brothers (do I have to say who plays them?), without whom this lj wouldn't exist.

Be my valentine, gentlemen!

I think it's safe to say that these men will keep my heart a flutter for many years to come ::sigh::

As for yesterday's entry, here are the answers (I've reposted the picture down below):

  1. My 3 favorite McFadden brothers from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers - Daniel (Roger Wilson), Crane (Peter Horton) & Adam (Richard Dean Anderson). I loved that Roger could sing well and he was so damn cute I purposely endured countless re-watches of Porky's just to see his feisty Mickey get the tar beat out of him and collapse into his friends' arms as he climbed out of his truck ::iz mortified::
  2. James Naughton as astronaut Pete Burke on Planet of the Apes - man did they torture him!
  3. The toughest one to I.D., but one I couldn't leave out... Ken Read, one of the legendary Crazy Canucks and the first North American downhill racer to ever win a World Cup event (he won 5). He was a hero to me.
  4. Lawrence Casey - Mark Hitchcock on Rat Patrol. Damn was he pretty!
  5. Michael Landon as Little Joe Cartwright on Bonanza. With the exception of an animated version of Rick Springfield, Little Joe was my first TV crush and though, as I grew older and learned to appreciate the fine, sophisticated qualities and attributes of his brother Adam, my first love had to find his way into the collage
  6. Geoffrey Deuel - Pete's brother and Billy the Kid in Chisum, a western I must've watched 20 times over the years, all because of his romanticized Billy ::sigh:: He was one of the first actors I searched for in TV Guide, looking for the numerous guest appearances he made on early to mid-70s TV dramas.
  7. As with Little Joe and Adam, I fell for Big Valley's Heath Barkley (Lee Majors) before I did Nick (Peter Breck), though sophistication had nothing to do with Nick's appeal LOL. Still, I'm placing Heath here because I crushed on him first.
  8. Yes I have 2 pictures of Simon & Simon (Jameson Parker & Gerald McRaney). I adored Rick's dog Marlowe, so *had* to include the one shot but, the other one on the right? It's one of my all time favorite publicity shots for *any* TV show and couldn't be left out.
  9. Sandwiched in between the S&S shots are Ben Murphy and Pete Duel from Alias Smith & Jones. Pete was the first crush to break my heart and his loss still hurts a little today :(
  10. The Outsiders - I'm not going to list the actors. Most of you know who they are. May I just say here, no, swear rather, that when I heard Coppola was making this movie when I was a teen, in my head I cast Swayze as Darry. Imagine my shock and delight when the first ads appeared for it in the newspapers! Like most of my generation, that book and that movie meant everything to me back then
  11. The Sacketts (Tom Selleck, Jeff Osterhage & Sam Elliot), though it could've just as easily been them in The Shadow Riders. I loved these 3 men as brothers and wish they'd've done more westerns together
  12. Michael Pare as Eddie Wilson in Eddie & the Cruisers. I confess, I adored him as Tony in Greatest American Hero too. Damn could those eyes and bangs pull off kicked puppy LOL
And here they are again, for easy reference:

Happy Valentine's Day, friends!

I can't believe I missed Michael Pare-I knew I knew him, I loved Houston Knights. And I thought Lawrence Casey was Jack Lord. not bad though. You wouldn't happen to have 7 Brides for 7 Brothers TV show on vhs or dvd would you???

JDM Bisou

I so would love to find 7 Brides on DVD or even VHS. Alas, I've never run across it and even YouTube only has a very few clips, mostly of young Mr. Phoenix

Thanks for the answers! Gotta admit I missed a few of them. I sure didn't remember Roger Wilson was in 7 Brides for 7 Brothers. Heh... to get a copy of that series!

Shadow Rider, The Sacketts, I agree, the 3 of them made awesome movies together. I wouldn't have been opposed to more of them.

Oh yeah, brother pics! Always, always make me happy. I do love that one of WM in the hat:D

SPN guys go without saying. That had to be the most inspired bit of casting ever.

I adored him on that show. That was another case of me watching the show from someone else, in this case RDA and Peter Horton, and falling for someone new: Roger as brother Daniel.

I too would so love to re-watch those eps. mind you I bet they'd make me cringe at times too LOL
