"A Few Good Men" Jensen pics after the June 9th matinee

November 5th, 2007 (07:59 pm)

where i am: inside and dry
how i am: sympathetic
accompanied by: Dyna's snores and the heavy rainfall outside

These aren't particularly unique given a whole bunch of us took pictures of Jensen in Fort Worth but I've never uploaded mine anywhere and Moondropz isn't feeling well, so here are some of the pix I took of Jensen after the Saturday matinee of "A Few Good Men".  Here you go, hon! Hope these help make you feel better :).

Oh, wow. Those are great pictures. So you actually went and saw the play? I'm so jealous, I bet it was amazing. :) Thanks for sharing! :)

So you actually went and saw the play?

I *did*. It was the craziest, most spontaneous thing I've ever done... decided on the Thursday morning that, if there was a reasonably priced flight, I was going. Flew down the Saturday morning from Toronto, watched both Saturday performances and was back in Toronto by 11 o'clock Sunday night *g*. My husband thinks I'm certifiably insane.

I don't disagree.

It was so worth it though ;)

You might actually BE insane? But I admire that, LOL! :) OMG. I so would have done the same thing if I didn't have the two little smurfs here. In fact, I might have done it anyway, if it had occurred to me! Good for you. Did you go all by yourself? I'm way impressed by your dedication. :)

Bros on set

Oh, yeah, I felt like such the jetsetter (snort). It wouldn't have happened if my girlfriend gatorpez (from FLA) and I hadn't been egging each other on. I don't think either of us got a lick of work done on that Thursday, once we started contemplating going. Never in a million years did I think I'd find a reasonably priced flight on such short notice out of Toronto but I *did* and next thing we knew, we were making arrangements. We shared a room (mind you we only slept about 3 hours Sat. night), did our running around together and had so much fun.

Jensen was fantastic in both performances and he (and Lou) was so gracious with the fans seeking autographs after the matinee (we didn't hang around after the evening performance). I discovered that I wasn't inclined to autograph seek but was happy to stand back and grin and also snap photos. It will always be a wonderful memory for me.

That sounds like a terrific trip; a girl needs those. :) *loves the Jensen, and you for sharing pretty pics*

a girl needs those

I totally agree and I *will* do something that crazy again someday. It was so not me, but so worthwhile.

Coincidentally, I was on the phone with my hubby today who has been doing a Winchesteresque x-country road trip on his own... taking his bird-dog hunting in the American west. He was calling from Idaho and will be continuing on to Oregon for a few days before starting the trek back home. He asked me where *I* was planning to go on my next solo vacation but before I could answer he amended his question by asking where Jensen would next be (LOL). I told him I'd let him know next year ;).

Certifiable... that's me!

LMAO about the hubby - mine makes fun of my SPN fascination, too. Every week he asks me what's happening this episode, if Sam and Dean are getting their driver's licenses, or going to prom, etc. I try to find chores for him to do so that I can watch (and obsess) by myself, LOL. :)

And OMG, my hubby was gone last week, and I missed him, but boy was it fun having "me time". Have fun, Ms. Certifiable! :)

Up here, the show airs this season on Thursday nights on CityTV and then the following Tuesday, the station "Space" airs it. I try to watch it on my own on Thursdays so I can screen it to see if it is an ep the hubby would enjoy (the emo stuff does *not* work for him) and then will watch it with him on Tuesdays, if I think it'll work for him. He loves the music, the Impala, the scares and, though he won't admit it, he likes Dean's character. They remind me a lot of each other in temperament and so I love to sit there and watch the same reactions come out of the hubby's mouth (yeah, he talks back to the TV *g*) while Dean says the same thing ;). It happens frequently and I get such a kick out of it. But, there were too many chick-flick eps last season that I had to keep him from, otherwise I'd suffer the eye-rolling and snarky comments ;).

Men... gotta love 'em *g*

I've been wanting to talk to someone who saw that. What was it like watching him perform live? Great pics by the way.

Jensen did an amazing job in AFGM. For the matinee, I watched the play as a whole, though it was damn hard to NOT stare at his shoulders in uniform in so many scenes LOL. For the night performance, I focused in on Jensen... literally... using small binoculars to watch just him/his face as he played the role.

It's easy to fall into the shallow end of the pool when talking about it - Jensen's shoulders (and back) in uniform as mentioned above, how amazing he looked in a baseball jersey and light faded blue jeans in one particular scene ::sigh:: But, truth is, his performance was just so captivating. Without copying Tom Cruise's Dan Kaffee or falling back on Dean Winchester, Jensen portrayed this character with cocky irreverence and yet kept him appealing, with plenty of heart. In one scene where his character's dead father is mentioned, he had me and my buddy gatorpez tearing up, especially in the first performance (when I didn't know what was coming). He really did an amazing job (as the critical reviews attested at the time) and, if he ever tries stage-work again, I'm going to make it to one of those performances come hell or high water LOL

Ackles glee!

OMG... You are so sweet! Thank you so much! These are amazing!! I have snagged and tagged-heee! *Loves* Anymore in the special interest of an HQ spam this week-you can always send my way! Ooh-it helps if I share the email addy huh? *DUH* moondropzz@gmail.com Just know I will credit when I do use these(and any others you might want to share)-and you got some amazing shots! Some of the best I've seen ;-P Also-they will only be in my lj unless it's ok to share in the comms(I will let you decide that), and will ask them to not use without permission from you. I'm glad you got the chance to see his play-yay!
*Huggles you*

I'm so very glad I could surprise you with these and by all means feel free to use them if you wish. I do appreciate you crediting me and I guess we'll keep them between our ljs. Not sure why, but I guess I should stay greedy with some things ;-)

There are 4 other decent pictures I took at that time but they honestly aren't as nice as the ones I already loaded here. I'll send them your way but don't worry about my feelings if you don't use them since *I* obviously didn't bother to upload them. Perhaps they'll work for one of your theme-oriented spams though??

Dean getting smushed

You probably would have heard my squeeing from your place? But I lost most of my voice today-lmao ;-P So it was more a little whistling noise added with a bit of a croaking sound at the end ;-P *G* Stupid sinus infection-lol!!!!
I will keep these in my lj only-it's all good then ;-P I do like to make sure when I am using private photos-it's rude when they-or in this case you-have been gracious enough to let me use them in the first place! And I am a huge credit whore-I don't think it's right not to. I know several who think it's fine-and for them it is. But it doesn't sit right with me. I take extra time in final edit for a spam-looking through all the pictures-to make double sure I have credited(LOL). It would be quicker if I diddn't but it makes me feel better-lol!
Ok-I'll look through ;-P On themes-that's an idea! But with themes I use those in comms-are you alright with that? If no-I will gladly just use in my lj for spamming purposes. I just want to make double sure ;-)

Mumpy Icon-legs

You know, I think I'll stay possessive about the ones uploaded to my lj (for now) but if you want to use the ones I emailed you in theme spams, go right ahead. Keep the others for your flist stuff. I don't even know why I'm being possessive but, for now, humor me *g*. I'll likely get over it ;).

I have noticed how diligently you credit people and that's truly commendable. Thank-you :).

Dean O_o

And I have no problem with this at all-I'm thrilled you'd let me spam in my journal with these ;-P Thanks again! I have the ones here marked-when I d/l'd the others from my email they went unmarked-easier to remember they are ok to use for themes-lol. But I have a file with your username on it-and they are all contained within there. Anal woman-lol. I spam-and use so many pictures from people if I didn't I'd never keep it all straight ;-P Method to my analness-heee! Plus it lets me make sure I credit the right source or person. When I first spammed it was just from one site-now I get caps from people who do this-and it's made it more important for me to keep it all straight! I want to make sure they're credited-it's important to me ;-P

one good belt

Here by way of moondropz. LOVE the photos! Thanks for sharing, your photos are awesome!!! I went to Opening Night and Wednesday night (with someone from Toronto, funnily enough!). We didn't get lucky with stage door appearances from Jensen, but we did get to sit very near Jared and Sandy for the first have of the play the night he came and saw him in the lobby...so it sort of evened out, I guess. The play was awesome and Jensen did a fantastic job.

Oh, I also know gatorpez too (via TWoP).

Glad you enjoyed the pictures. I had just an awesome time.

Friends of ours were there the Wednesday also and it was their excitement in large part that spurred gatorpez and I into deciding to go. I'm sure she'd agree that, though crazy, it was a helluva good idea *g*.
